T.I.A // THIS IS AFRICA.

For those who are wondering why It looks like Im doing many different things at once alongside my nutritional coaching career, I’m also a part time anaesthetic nurse at a hospital on the Gold Coast, Australia. I was fortunate enough to have been selected to join a maxillary facial team this year and travel across to the other side of the planet (which seemed to me more like landing on a completely different planet) to the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). MOUNTAIN GORILLAS IN THE VIRUNGA JUNGLE, AFRICA.

Trekking through the Virunga jungle was one of the most amazing things I have ever done in my life. Climbing a steep incline 2700m above sea level (I take my hat off to those who train/trek in high altitude… so hard!) in the middle of Africa, we came across a beautiful little family of Mountain Gorillas. As we sat in their nest and watched them play, eat, groom and rest… we were told the amazing story behind this family…
